Explore the trails of Chester, New Jersey!
This website is designed to help users of Chester Trails to plan a safe and enjoyable walk, hike, or ride in our town. Every Township and Borough park with designated trails, as well as every County and State park located in Chester is represented on this site. Photos, maps, and trail descriptions are provided to improve the user experience and make things as clear as possible. A description of each trail informs users of trail distance, surface, suggested uses, and notable features found along the trails.
Trail descriptions are provided by avid hiker Kay Cynamon. We are grateful to Kay for helping us with the informative narrative.
Chester Recreation offers seasonal guided hikes that focus on some of the themes presented here: History, Birdwatching, Geology, and more. Hikes will be announced on this website, as well as on the Chester Trails Facebook page.
Thanks to all collaborators on the Chester Trails Project – Chester Township, Chester Borough, the Morris County Parks Commission, NJDEP, Federal Highway Administration’s Recreational Trails Program, the Boy Scouts of America, the Chester Historical Society, and the NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife.
